Invoice Preparation FAQ

Short answers to common questions about the invoice guides and worked examples on this site.

Is there an invoice template?

Not yet. The current site publishes guides and examples, not a downloadable invoice template or generator. Do not expect a file or account after reading a guide.

What should an invoice include?

A basic invoice normally identifies the sender and customer, shows a unique invoice number and date, lists the goods or services with quantities and rates, states the total due and gives agreed payment instructions. The field-by-field guide explains each part.

How should invoice numbers work?

Use a consistent, unique sequence and keep it stable after sending. A simple prefix plus a number can work, but local rules or a customer contract may impose specific requirements. The numbering article covers examples and limits.

Does the site cover tax?

No. It does not decide tax rates, registration thresholds or legal invoice requirements for a jurisdiction. Check the rules that apply to you or ask a qualified professional.

How do I check a total?

Recalculate quantities times rates, add line totals, apply any discount consistently and compare the result with the amount due. See the calculation checks guide.

How do I report an error?

Email [email protected] with the page URL and a short description. Do not include customer identities, card numbers or bank details.
